Birds were hit hard with Blackbirds and Redwings foraging where the horse had cleared the snow in the nearby field, and a solitary Nuthatch was heard during the week.
The snow held off for the rest of the week but temperatures were very much in the minus. Bird life was quiet at the start of the week but became a bit livelier towards the end, with a ♀ Chaffinch mid-week, this species tend to be few and far between.
At the end of the week were Blue Tit, Great Tit, Jay, Siskin the usual Crow, Jackdaw, Magpie and Woodpigeons, along with plenty of Redwings which could be seen in the front car park and the horse field at the side of the brook.
