Week 15

Things seem to be turning around this week with a very slow return to spring at last, I have started seeing summer migrants returning and my first Butterfly of the season but not on site hopefully Week 16 will see an end to that with good southerly winds for the week.

Wildlife about this week was the usual Magpie, Jackdaw and Crows, early morning chorus is still full of Blackbirds and Robins. There was a good mixture of birds this week with a pair of Coal Tits all week, a Green Woodpecker heard “Yaffling”, House Sparrows in the front car park bushes,  Mistle Thrush in the nearby fields, Blue Tit, Long tailed and Great Tit in the woods along with Wren, Greenfinch, Woodpigeon in the wood with fly over Black headed Gulls and Mallard. Possible sighting of Chiffchaff midweek it might make it’s presence known next week
