Week 49

The week started with average December temps at around 7° and rather grey and overcast with winds about 7mph, turning bright in the middle then ending with gale force winds.

The bird highlights this week involved large flocks of winter Thrush mainly Redwings with the odd Fieldfare and Blackbird thrown in.

In the wooded areas this week we could see Long tailed Tit, Blue Tit, Great Tit, Goldfinch and a single Chaffinch (which are nice to see as they are few and far between birds).

Of course the usual troop were about Magpie, Jackdaw, Crow, Woodpigeon and fly over Black-headed Gull.
