Week 20

Week 20 was on the damp and chilly side in the first half of the week resulting in very little going on with only a single Orange tip butterfly being seen on the insect highlights, birds were also quiet with very  little activity in the first half of the week with only Blackcap, chiffchaff and wren making themselves known

Small copper [first of the new season], Orange tips, Whites from mid week,

Birds Blackcap, Swallow, Chiffchaff, Goldfinch, Great Tit, Wren the Swallows now seem to be well settled in and look as if they are brooding eggs


A couple of days of warmer weather resulted in a few more Insects and of note this week were Rhingia campestris Hoverfly,  Hoverfly sryphus sp, Nettle tap moth, click beetle sp, Hoverfly [Leucozona lucorum]

I also have ID a two new micro moths this week in the form of a Common Roller [Ancylis badiana] see below and a Green Fairy Longhorn Moth [Adela reaumurella]
