So whats happened this week, on the weather front it hasn’t been impressive but I’ve had a couple of nice finds.
The Swallows are still busy and seem to be brooding, Blackcap seems to be singing from a number of places or do we have more than one?, Chiffchaff still active in the wooded are, Tadpoles have appeared in the overflow pond, didn’t catch the parents again this year.
Butterflies have been active when the sun shone, species seeen Orange tip, Peacock, Large White. On the Moth side a nice Common Carpet Moth was found along one of the footpaths.
The find of the week however was a lonely Large Red Damselfly a species I haven’t seen on site for 2 years , inspection of the large pond however didn’t reveal anymore.
There was St Marks Flies and Yellow Dung Flies around along with other small insects of which I haven’t a glue about, well that was week 21, here’s a few pictures to enjoy
