Week 37

So what did week 37 hold for us, weather wise its been good with another dry week with seasonal temps at around the 18°-20° mark but rather a grey cloudy week.

Birds seen this week have been Robin, Bullfinch, Blue Tit, Great Tit, Coal Tit, Wren, Dunnock with a Nuthatch being heard mid-week, the surprise this week were  Chiffchaffs with one also being heard calling the “chiff-chaff” call.

Butterflies on the week in 37 have been plenty of Speckled Wood reaching into double figures at times the odd white butterflies have been seen flying thru but not settling and the unidentified Dragonfly still flies over the field not settling for a positive ID.

Hoverflies along with bees are a plenty but as always are hard to ID, we’ve had Common Carder Bee, Buff tailed Bee and Honey Bees with plenty of Syrphus Hoverflies and the odd one or two Leucozona glaucia thrown in
