Week 38

Well we’ve had a good run of fine dry weather for a long time, it had to break at some point and it happened on week 38, its been grey, overcast with plenty of drizzle with the few odd blue clearings but on a good note the temps have been 2° above normal so we’ve had something to smile about.

So when I did manage to venture out I found very little insect life now with only a handful of Speckled Woods hanging on along with some Syrphus hoverflies.

Birds however have been a bit more active we’ve had a couple of Grey Wagtails, plenty of Robins, Blue Tit, Great Tit, Coal Tit, Long tailed Tit, the Nuthatch has been heard on occasion has has the Great Spotted Woodpecker along with some very noisy Jays
