A great week birding this week after such a quiet one last week shame about the weather which deteriorated as the week went on.
Monday is were we start with the Common Buzzard seen over the back field, but the surprise of the day goes to the nice flock of Pink footed Geese, approx 70 birds going NW and calling as they went.
In between we’ve had plenty of activity around the bird table with plenty of Blue Tit and Great Tit, Dunnock, Robin and a Grey Squirrel (of course).
In the Woods we had a couple of surprises with a Goldcrest and Treecreeper, a pair of Nuthatch have been noisy all week so once again I’m hopping they will breed again on site, as have Blue Tit and Great Tit, these species seem to be pairing and locating nest sites for the coming breeding year. Song Thrush has started early mornings has have Robins again. Other birds around this week as always, Crow, Rook, Jackdaw, Woodpigeon, Black headed Gull, Common Gull, Magpie (tidying up last years nest), Blackbird and of note Moth species seen high up on one of the windows hence not ID
