Well the weather don’t seem to be getting any better with that cold wind remaining all week, which had a result on not seeing much insect life at the start of the week but things did warm a little towards the end of the week.
The most activity for the birds this week was around the bird table where we could see, Long tailed Tit, Blue tit, Great Tit, Blackbird, Robin, Dunnock, Goldcrest and Nuthatch. Out and about things were quite but Blackcap and Chiffchaff were still with us unlike the Common Whitethroat from last week which now seems to have moved on. Swifts were overhead and the Swallows now seem to have settled in on their favourite breeding location.
Butterflies didn’t show until the Thursday when things warmed a bit, when a single Peacock, now worse for wear, put in appearance, Orange tips and Green veined whites were more numerous.
Other wildlife of note were Scorpion Flies and a Solitary Bee
