Week 26

A better week all-round the weather seems to be turning for the better the bird table area has been busy with young families Great, Blue and Long tailed Tit. There were Dunnock, Robin, Blackbirds, Chaffinch, Nuthatch and a pair of Great Spotted Woodpeckers.

Out in the wood Chiffchaff and Blackcap remain, we’ve also had House Martins and Swifts hanging around also this week, but the resident Swallows again have been quiet again this week.

To the insects Moths this  have been Silver ground Carpet and Yellow barred Longhorn Moths, no bigger moths as yet. Butterflies Meadow Browns doing what Meadow Browns like doing best hiding in the long grass, Large Skippers are a bit better and have been in good numbers this week, Speckled Woods around the woodland verges and a single Small Tortoiseshell
