Week 48

A game of two halves Monday we had drizzle at lunch break with Tuesday a bright day and Wednesday/Thursday a wash out.

Monday I caught sight of a flock of Siskin along with Fieldfares/Redwings and Blackbirds before returning inside due to the rain.

Tuesday was the better day with a flock of Lapwings c30 going over heading N, a bird that I don’t see much of and a bird that hasn’t been seen since 2010.  A  Sparrowhawk was a welcome sight along with 4 Common Buzzards over the adjoining field area. Redwings, Blackbirds and Fieldfares are a plenty at the moment among the berries, Goldfinch can be found higher up along with Blue Tit, Great Tit, Chaffinch, Dunnock and Robins.

In addition around at the bird table a pair of Nuthatch and Great Spotted Woodpecker could be seen.

Reports of Deer and Mink this week
