Week 19

A better week with the weather which showed in the insects now appearing, a Green Shield Bug (fence posts and gorse always a good places to find these) was found whilst watching Orange – tip and Speckled Wood Butterflies, however still no sign of any moth species. Other Butterflies this week inc. a female Brimstone, Comma and Peacock

Birds this week were the usual around the birdtable Nuthatch, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Robin, Dunnock, Great Tit Blue Tit and Woodpigeon. Pied Wagtail in the car parks and along the brook at times Common Buzzard could be seen overhead. Swallows are doing well but no sign of Swift or House Martins this week. They are now two Blackcap male on site and the Chiffchaff has been active all week
