Week 28

Another poor week on the weather front feeling more like Autumn rather than summer.

Blackcap and Chiffchaff stay around making themselves heard in the wooded areas, young Robins,  Blue Tit and Great Tit are still hanging around the bird table.

Butterfly species have been well below average this week with Speckled Wood, Small Skipper,  Large Skipper, Meadow Brown being down on numbers with only Ringlet fairing well.

Moths have been seen this week mainly on the “Moth Wall” these were Riband Waves, Swallowtail and a first for site a Female Bee Moth [Aphomia sociella]
