Week 34

Well the Swallows proved me wrong and showed up again towards the back end of the week visiting the nest site on occasions . Common Buzzard over was another highlight this week as well as a female Pheasant siting on a nest with 9 eggs, rather late.

Usual crew remain around the birdtable with Nuthatch showing up this week along with a Coal Tit briefly, and a Chiffchaff/Willow Warbler could be heard contact calling. A lone Sparrowhawk was seen all but briefly near the top car park swooping into the trees

The only Butterfly seen this week in good numbers were Speckled Woods, no officially the UKs most successful butterfly, which is now slowly spreading Northwards. Small White and Green veined Whites were also seen.

The remaining highlight from this week was the Mink seen along the nearby Brook on a couple of occasions and on one occasion with prey
